Vauxhall Vectra VXR

Fresh tyres restore the Vectra's poise

Vauxhall Vectra VXR
After the past few months’ jaunts, the Vectra’s original Continental tyres were tired out, attrition having destroyed the fronts. So this month we changed the whole lot for a set of new Dunlop Sport Maxxes.

I chose the Dunlops because they brought an improvement in both road noise and traction when I fitted some to my old Mégane Cup long-termer last year. The VXR needs help in both these areas and, true to form, the Sport Maxxes have delivered, cutting down noise and taming the wheelspin created by this Vectra’s monster motor.

Otherwise, with six months of motoring now past, life with the big Vauxhall continues to be trouble-free. Well, apart from the frequent problem of trying to find a long enough parking space!
