Long term tests

Audi RS6

A long haul fully laden, and pushed hard on a track test. Our RS6 has taken it all in its stride

Audi RS6

The RS6 has had numerous pilots this month, thanks largely to its ability to transport five people plus their luggage at close to the speed of sound. But with 11,500 miles now showing on the mileometer I’m amazed at how well its tyres are lasting, especially when you consider our car was subjected to a full-on track test, including figuring, when it first arrived (evo 121).

Yet there’s still plenty of life left in the tyres after all those hard-driven miles. I reckon it’s the quattro system that helps here as the traction in the dry is close to unshakable, while even in the wet it’s still deeply impressive. We’re obviously not trying hard enough.
