Honda Civic Type-R

People keep asking if I still like the Honda, as if they expect I'll tire of its frenetic nature. But its hardcore character is why I enjoy it so much. That appeal seems to be attracting plenty of customers for Honda; I was checking a car supermarket website the other day and, although they could knock a grand off the price, delivery wasn't until October.

There is one annoyance with the car, and while it may sound petty, in day-to-day use it's an increasing aggravation. Honda can do clever things with valve lift and timing, but it can't make the front seat backrests return to their original position once you've let passengers into the rear. The passenger side front seat is supposed to flick back to where you first put it but seldom does ΂- the driver's seat doesn't even have the mechanism to do so, let alone the will. Perhaps Honda's clearly talented valvetrain engineers should have a crack at the problem.
