And every time I go out in the Zafira a new challenge is thrown my way - I've just got to know if mine is faster than theirs.
Others in the office who have borrowed the Zafira - it's usually Chee - have suggested that the GSI is too fast for its own good and could get you into trouble. But all agree that it's great fun winding up the typical repmobile driver.
This month I filled the Zafira to capacity for the first time using all seven seats and was pleased to find that it comfortably seated six adults and one baby (not mine, that's next month!). The two extra flip-up seats in the boot really are handy.
I've clocked up almost 7000 miles in the short time the Zafira has been here and amazingly the first service isn't due for another 13,000 miles. Sadly the last month hasn't been completely trouble-free because the Zafira has failed to start on several occasions. On each occasion the engine turned over but didn't ignite, and a mechanical warning light flashed up. After ten minutes of key turning, looking vainly under the bonnet and fuse checking, it would finally fire up. Suspecting that something was wrong with the immobiliser, I took the car in to our local Vauxhall dealership for investigation. When I collected the Zafira later the same day they told me that, after numerous checks on their diagnostics machine, they could find no faults. All they could suggest was that I should bring it back if it happened again.
Oddly, the problem only seems to occur when the car has been sitting in bright sunlight. The plot thickens...
