SEAT Leon Cupra R

Recent track action prompted the need for new pads and tyres for the front of our Cupra R. I guess 12,000 miles is an acceptable wear rate, considering the 'brisk' cornering and roundabout hilarity that the zingy Seat elicits from you. The excellent Pirelli P Zero Rossos are such a perfect match to the R's chassis that I'm sticking with them for the replacements.

Apart from one short spell on track, I haven't had to hit the ESP button yet, as the system simply doesn't interfere with the fun, whatever conditions are thrown at you.

Other than worn-out paint on the gearknob, the only niggle so far is a constantly illuminated engine management warning light which, after two investigations, persists. Apparently no harm is being done and a new part will be fitted when it's in stock. It looks like SEAT UK will be fitting it, though, as unfortunately my six-month tenure of the Cupra R soon comes to an end. I've got two weeks left so it's the long way home from now on.
