Smart Brabus Cabrio

A trip to Bingley this month proved that Yorkshire's B-roads are just too bumpy for our little Smart. It struggled to keep up with local traffic as it ran out of suspension travel, calling on the Tridion safety cell to absorb the bigger bumps by dissipating the shock through the cabin.

Bearing in mind the crashing that came through the cabin as the Smart fell into some of the North's worst potholes, I half expected some suspension damage. But the Roadster's a tough little cookie, and the only damage was to my backside after enduring these roads.

Elsewhere, the traction control and ABS warning lights still flash on at least once a month for no apparent reason. As this problem can be reset just by switching the engine on and off I haven't bothered to visit the dealer. Has anyone else had this problem? If you have email fastfleet@evo.co.uk

The Smart leaves us soon, so there'll be an end-of-term report next month.
