Vauxhall VX220 Turbo

Another month of frustration with the VXT. We've had no word on the blanking plate that prevents rainwater from filling up the spark plug housings and even with the sun blazing the VXT is misfiring more often than not. It must be a legacy of the water ingress - either rusty spark plugs or a water-damaged coil. We'll get it looked at asap. Until then the hoped-for performance comparison pre- and post-AMD chip upgrade and VXR/Milltek exhaust will just have to wait...

It's a real shame that this problem has struck the VXT so virulently; we've heard a few other cases of rain causing problems but not to the extent that has dogged our car for the last two months or so. Lately we've had some wonderful sports car weather and KE03 HJN has been fantastic when it's been running on all four cylinders. Yet that makes it all the more frustrating when you take the long way to the shops, plant the throttle and run into a premature rev limit at about 3500rpm, engine popping and banging like it's fitted with anti-lag. I'm sure the frustration will be forgotten when it's back to full health, but there won't be much time to enjoy it; the VXT has been here for a year and Luton wants its baby back.
