Ford Kuga ST-Line pricing and specs confirmed

New driving dynamics for facelifted Kuga

Ford has announced details of a new sporty trim line for its Kuga crossover, dubbed ST-Line in reference to the full ST models available in some Ford models.

The Ford Kuga ST-Line brings several changes over the standard car aimed at improving driving dynamics. The chassis uses suspension bushes from the Ford Focus, while spring and damper rates have been tweaked and the car sits 10mm lower than other Kugas. Anti-roll bars are thicker too, and power steering has been recalibrated for quicker response.

Also part of the ST-Line pack are either 18 or 19-inch wheels, as well as sports seats with contrast stitching, a similarly-trimmed gearlever gaiter and steering wheel, and a metallic finish to the centre console.

Exterior changes include black roof rails, a new honeycomb front grille in gloss black, tinted lights and privacy glass. There are side skirts too, as well as redesigned front and rear bumpers with skid plates.

ST-Line models will include the full range of Kuga engines, which includes a 1.5-litre TDCi (replacing the 118bhp 2-litre model), and 148bhp and 177bhp 2-litre TDCi options (the latter with optional AWD).

A 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol unit putting out 148bhp is also offered, as is a 180bhp version with standard all-wheel drive.

The car is set to go on sale from September 1st with prices starting at £25,845 – regular Kugas begin at £20,845.

The ST-Line isn't the only car set to be added to the Kuga product line. A Kuga Vignale is also on the way, while Ford will expand its SUV range to include the EcoSport and new Ford Edge. If you've not read it yet, why not take a look at our review of the new Ford Edge here.

ST-Line trim is also available on the Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo, which retail for £15,645, £20,595 and £24,745 respectively – all are available to order now with deliveries beginning in the autumn.
