Zolfe Orange

Lightweight Brit on sale this summer

The Autosport show saw the debut of an entirely new British sports car, the Zolfe Orange.

The brainchild of entrepreneur and enthusiast Nic Strong and former Caterham technical director Jez Coates, it aims to offer the handling and performance of something like a Seven but with a coupe body.

There will be a choice of 2.0 or 2.3-litre Ford Duratec engines sending 190 or 300bhp to the rear wheels. The chassis is a tubular steel spaceframe with an integrated roll- cage, and with GRP bodywork the complete car weighs just 698kg, so performance should be brisk. Stadco, who worked with Ford on the development of its GT, is helping with the design and packaging. Other partners include AP Racing, Avon and Multimatic, who helped develop the Caterham CSR’s chassis.
