Subaru marks the 20th anniversary of the Impreza WRX STI

Subaru Impreza WRX STI 20th Anniversary

Did you know the Impreza WRX STI is 20 years old now? Neither did we, but nevertheless, here is Subaru's special edition car to celebrate the occasion.

While the UK hasn't seen two decades service from the STI, Subaru's Japanese home market has enjoyed banzai saloons for longer than us. As a result, this Subaru Impreza WRX STI 20th Anniversary (to give it its tongue-twisting full name) is limited to 300 units, all Japan-only.

Changes are fairly minor - there's some coilover springs to tighten up the suspension underneath, while on the outside the STI gains a black front-lip spoiler and rear wing. The 18in alloys are new, while inside there's a flash gearknob, some cherry red (read: pink) stitching on the seats, in line with the STI logo, as well as a commemorative plaque to brag about how special and limited your purchase is.

If you fancy one, the Japanese price - which is north of four million yen - translates to just under £26,500, which is cheaper than we pay for a standard WRX STI.
