The Lexus LFA has arrived in London. The 202mph, 552bhp supercar has been slotted into the company’s flagship Park Lane showroom, with the order book open now.
It will be the base for all European LFA sales, with 100 cars – 20 per cent of the 500-strong production run – earmarked for Europe, with 25 of those expected to be in the UK. So far around thirty 25,000 euro deposits have been taken by dealer Devshi Varsani, the man in charge of LFA sales. Apparently he’s contactable by all customers at all times.
The price of the car itself has been fixed at 315,000 euros plus tax - £368,000 in our money. Ouch. Toyota won’t make a profit on the LFA though, the car instead acting as a halo car for the whole brand.
The 500 supercars destined to be made will be produced in two phases at the Motomachi factory in Japan, during 2011 and 2012, the first UK car due for delivery in Spring 2011. LFAs will only be built once a specific car has been ordered.
If you’re taken by the LFA and can afford the asking price, then you can go to the Lexus website and configure one (with left-hand and right-hand drive available). Be brave and spec one in Lavender or Passionate Pink…
