Lamborghini's Record Breaker

The fabulous Lamborghini Murciélago has captured three international speed records at the Prototipo Ring, Nardo. Despite heavy crosswinds, the 570bhp supercar covered 62 miles from a standing start at an average of 198.853mph and 100 miles from a standing start averaging 198.996mph. The Murciélago went on to establish a new one hour international speed record for production cars of 189.54, which included a fuel stop.

Lamborghini test driver Giorgio Sanna piloted the car to the records but the boys from Sant 'Agata are planning another visit to Nardo in ideal conditions to set more records.

They could be in for some competition, though. B Engineering's Edonis will also take a trip to Nardo in the near future. And with 680bhp it could to set some spectacular benchmarks.
