The Double 12S uses an aluminium spaceframe chassis and fully adjustable suspension similar to those of the less powerful C8 Spyder and Laviolette models, though with a 100mm longer wheelbase.
The aluminium body is also similar but has extended wheelarches to accommodate the wider wheels. The whole car is 400mm longer - largely the result of the longer rear deck which helps to generate downforce at high speed.
Unlike many road-racers the Double 12S isn't a stripped-out homologation special. In fact it's beautifully trimmed with a turned-aluminium dash and hand-stitched leather seats. It also features comforts such as electric windows and air conditioning. The first examples of Spyker's ultimate supercar will hit the roads later this year.
And the price? Around £250,000.
