Nismo launches Nissan GT-R RC

Nissan launches a brand new race car, the Nismo GT-R RC Racing Competition

Other than the GT1 machine, a race version of the Nissan GT-R has been conspicuous by its absence. But that has changed with the arrival of the Nismo-built RC (Racing Competition) version unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon. Unlike the GT1, this car uses uprated road car running gear.

The 3.6-litre V6 engine remains standard, but the suspension has been revised and the racer enjoys numerous lightweight parts, a full welded cage, a 120-litre safety fuel cell and air jacks. There are no details on the price as yet, nor any confirmation that a GT3 version is on the cards. Nothing has been denied though...
