Porsche 911 Martini Racing Edition news, price and specs

Porsche celebrates its return to top flight Le Mans with the 911 Carrera S Martini Racing Edition

Porsche is marking its return to top-level Le Mans racing with a special edition. The 911 Carrera S Martini Racing Edition pays homage to one of the more iconic motorsport liveries, and one which a fair few Porsches, namely the 917 and 935, have boosted the appreciation of.

The changes are purely aesthetic. The bonnet, roof and rear wing all get bold Martini graphics (in signature blue and red) while its ‘Aerokit Cup’ body kit adds a more intricate front splitter and fixed rear spoiler. The only colour options are white and black.

Inside, there are yet more smatterings of blue and red, while Porsche’s sport steering wheel and Sport Chrono extras are standard. The option boxes for satnav, phone connectivity, a Bose stereo and electric leather seats are also ticked.

Based on the Carrera S, the rear wheels are driven by a 394bhp 3.8-litre flat-six engine. With Porsche’s seven-speed PDK paddle-shift gearbox as standard, it possesses a 4.1sec 0-60 time and a 188mph top speed.

There will be 80 Martini Edition 911s made, with sales across most of Porsche’s markets. Just two are set to come to the UK – priced at £102,862, more than £19,000 pricier than a basic Carrera S – though if you aren’t quick enough to order, fret not: a Martini decal kit will be available from Porsche’s Tequipment extras service.
