Quaife has celebrated its 40th birthday by launching the R40. It has a tubular spaceframe chassis with GRP body panels and a mid-engined layout, but unusually the £30,000 track and road car is supplied without a powerplant, allowing the customer to choose. It has been engineered to take everything from a bike engine to a big V8 and the six-speed Q-tech gearbox is rated up to 500bhp.
