M3 Gets Extra Edge

BMW's brilliant but hugely expensive M3 CSL has spawned a new harder-edged M3 that should keep sales buoyant until the V8-engined E90 M3 arrives in 2007. The new M3 CS has been available in the US since last year (where it's labelled the 'Competition Package') and now it's coming to the UK.

The upgrades include bigger, 345mm front discs and a quicker steering rack, both lifted from the CSL limited edition lightweight. Externally the M3 CS is distinguished by 19in CSL-style alloys (they're not as light as the real CSL rims and are wrapped in more conventional rubber) and it's offered with the exclusive Interlagos Blue hue, although all other M3 colours are also available.
