Jaguar has revealed details of its new pedestrian-friendly bonnet that will appear for the first time on the new XK. If you're unlucky enough to hit a pedestrian then pyrotechnics will raise the 18kg bonnet a few inches in just 30 milliseconds. This creates a cushioning effect above the hard points in the engine compartment, limiting injuries.
