Ascari's race replica

To celebrate its tenth year in business, Ascari is producing this road-going replica of its Spanish GT race car. Called the A10, it's based on the existing KZ1, but after having enjoyed the attentions of an unnamed motorsport partner, its V8 engine cranks out 600bhp, a cool 100 more than the KZ1.

Revised headlamps differentiate 220mph A10 from lesser-powered KZ1
Carbonfibre-bodied and with a fixed rear wing and revised headlamp arrangement, the A10 is currently undergoing extensive testing at the Race Resort Ascari and other European circuits. Chief test driver is Ascari's multi-millionaire owner, Klaus Zwaart, who has also been campaigning the racer in the Spanish GT series.

The standard gearbox in the A10 will be the same (slightly notchy) Cima six-speed manual found in the Zonda and Koenigsegg, although there will be the option of a sequential shifter.

A maximum of 50 A10s will be built, each costing about £350,000.
