One of motorsport's more colourful characters, Tom Walkinshaw, resurfaced at the Autosport show to announce his return to European motorsport and outline a deal struck with GM to become the official UK tuner of Vauxhall VXR and Holden HSV products.
26th January 2006
Although active in the Aussie V8 Supercars series for the past few years, Walkinshaw dropped below European radar after his Arrows F1 team went bust in 2002. His Northern Hemisphere comeback involves preparing Group N Mitsubishi rally cars on behalf of the UK importer. The GM operation will run under the flag of HSV Performance Centres and will benefit from Walkinshaw's Australian experience.
