Ford glams-up the hybrid

One of the few US cars at the Detroit Auto Show that wasn't a retro muscle-car or a hulking SUV was this, the Ford Reflex, a small coupe with a hybrid drivetrain that Ford is considering for production.

To date, most hybrids have looked either plain or just plain
odd, or have been a way to offset the environmental footprint of an overweight off-roader, but the Reflex looks sassy enough to attract a broader audience to the hybrid cause.

Powered by a 1.4-litre diesel engine working in conjunction with an electric motor in the rear axle, if the Reflex were to go into production there would most likely be the option of a petrol unit.
