the 101EX is 'a very modern, 21st century interpretation of a classic Grand Touring coupe', according to Rolls-Royce chief designer Ian Cameron.
The imposing four-seater Rolls-Royce has rear-hinged doors for more convenient cabin access. The doors open
and shut electrically and also feature frameless glass so
that when all the windows are lowered there's an expansive, pillarless aperture.
While under the skin the 101EX (the numerals stand for
the age of the company, the initials for 'experimental')
shares the Phantom's aluminium spaceframe and
6.75-litre V12 direct injection petrol engine, the concept uses all-new body panels. Most of the body is in carbonfibre composite, but the windscreen frame and bonnet are in brushed aluminium.
