Look out Avalanche

While Porsche leaches out details of the new 911 Turbo, German tuner Gemballa has released a turbocharged monster of its own, the rear-wheel drive, 641bhp Avalanche.

Based on the 997 Carrera, the GTR 650 Avalanche boasts three intercoolers to service its blower, while its engine's internals benefit from titanium con-rods and a redesigned induction system.

Aided and abetted by 605lb ft of torque, the Avalanche is claimed to despatch the 0-62mph sprint in 3.6sec and be good for 208mph (with the right gearing). Eight-piston callipers working on 380mm discs bring the rampant Gemballa to a halt.
