Racelogic makes new drift toy

Racelogic, the company that produces the GPS-based VBOX system that we use to capture all our performance data, has launched a new device designed to measure the speed, length, angle and duration of oversteer slides. The 'DriftBox' will be used in all official D1 drift competitions in Japan, the US and the UK. And you can buy one for just £465.

That might seem a lot, but aside from the drift functions the DriftBox also measures performance figures, stopping distances, lap times (to within 0.1sec) and lateral g. The software is as sophisticated as that in the VBOX, so DriftBox could be a boon to club racers and quarter-mile junkies.

Racelogic will also soon be offering a download of all fixed-site speed cameras, further adding to the DriftBox's impressive versatility.
