Nokia has produced an 'Aston Martin Edition' of its 8800 tri-band phone with the Aston logo laser-etched on its stainless steel casing. In addition to having Bluetooth connectivity with your Aston, the phone features a ring-tone recording of the Vantage's V8. It's yours for £940, from your local Aston dealer.

Open versions of the Aston V8 Vantage have been spotted soaking up the spring sunshine on roads in the Midlands. The good-looking soft-top stows its hood beneath a hard tonneau and has aerodynamic covers over its pop-up roll hoops. To be called Roadster, it will debut at the Los Angeles motor show in November.

Ford may not produce many cars in Britain these days, but its Diesel Centre in Dagenham has just announced that it has designed and will manufacture a twin-turbo 3.6-litre V8 diesel, to be used in Fords, Jaguars and Land Rovers. The engine produces 266bhp and 472lb ft. Up to 25,000 will be made annually.

Goodbye Smart roadster; a 'finale edition' has been launched prior to the demise of the little soft-top and coupe. The roadster costs £13,990, the coupe £14,690.

Rumour has it Bertone is willing to invest 150m Euros of its own cash if Fiat Group will allow it to manufacture a convertible version of the Lancia Fulvia concept from 2003. Troubled Fiat is said to be 'considering' the proposal.
