The inaugural D1GB drift series kicked-off at Donington over Easter, with its first 'licence test day'. The only drift championship in Europe officially sanctioned by the Japanese D1 Grand Prix Professional Drift Series, D1GB's organisers assessed more than 50 hopefuls, with the help of Kazama-san, reigning D1GP champion.

There'll be another licence test day soon, but meanwhile those not granted a licence this time can still compete, though only on provisional D1 licences. With the standard set so high, this year's six-round D1GB series promises some spectacular tyre-smoking action.
