Seagrave club opens up

New venture joins growing ranks of supercar clubs

A new, ultra-exclusive supercar club has just been launched with the boast that it will give its members more time in the cars they really want to drive than any other.

Called the Segrave Club, it has been named after Sir Henry Segrave, who, back in the 1920s, set three land-speed records and was the first person to travel at over 200mph on land. The company’s headquarters are in Sir Henry’s old showroom in Knightbridge.

Chief executive Nick Hancock was previously MD of the P1 Club. ‘After seven years I recognise how the needs of the supercar enthusiast have evolved,’ he said. ‘The aim of the Segrave Club is to give members a higher level of access than the competition, so there’s no need to put up with getting what’s available rather than what you want.’

The club’s top-level group includes cars such as the Porsche Carrera GT and the Mercedes SLR McLaren. The next group includes the Ferrari 599, Lamborghini LP640 and Aston Martin DBS, while further down the scale you’ll find a Gallardo Superleggera and an F430 Spider, amongst others, and in a few months’ time the new Alfa 8C will join that list.

The club will also offer benefits such as driving experiences (including ice driving in the Alps and a 200mph experience) and access to special enclosures at top UK motoring events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the British Grand Prix.

Membership starts at £16,000 per annum, and there’s a one-off £5000 joining fee. For more details visit www.segraveclub.com
