Freestream promises race-car experience

Two former colleagues of ex-McLaren designer and evo contributor Gordon Murray have created this, the mid-engined Freestream T1, an outrageously styled, ultra-lightweight road and track car claimed to handle like a Le Mans sports prototype and accelerate like an F1 car. It weighs just 465kg and is powered by a bespoke, all-alloy, 2.4-litre supercharged V8 producing 500bhp (at 10,500rpm!). This gives the Freestream T1 a power-to-weight ratio of 1087bhp per tonne.
