As these exclusive spy-shots seem to prove, BMW is apparently responding to Audi’s all-new RS6 which was officially launched at the Frankfurt Show last week.
Closer examination of the photos reveals additional mesh-covered air-intakes in the front bumper to satisfy the upgraded V10-engine under the bonnet. Rumours suggest it is going to be pushed to no less than 575 bhp – still 10 horsepower less than the new Audi flagship but a massive increase over the 507 bhp of the current M5.
The photographer who delivered the spy-shots reports about a much more aggressive and somewhat lower sound and is sure to have heard the car was equipped with the new DSG transmission rather than the SMG used for M5s so far.
