The all-new Sorento will be getting a bit larger, as well as adding a third-row seat, as it moves to Hyundai’s Santa Fe unit body platform. Powertrain-wise, the Sorento takes a more fuel efficient route and gets Hyundai's new Theta II 2.4L 4-cylinder motor with about 170 hp. A 3.8-litre V6 model will also be available and be good for around 275 hp. Both models should drop the current 5-speed transmission in favour of the new 6-speed found in the Veracruz. The Sorento will be built alongside Kia’s Optima, at Kia’s new falicity in West Point, Georgia, USA.
