BAC Mono 2.5 v Radical RXC Turbo 500 - Head to Head video

Our third video puts two insane track-focused sports cars together in a lap battle around Anglesey

The idea is simple: Take two similarly potent performance cars, put them on a track, introduce a suitable driver, and see which is first to cross the line in a timed shootout. Oh, and make sure to film the whole thing.

It's called Head-to-Head, and as well as being a fascinating spectacle - one with the potential to dethrone a few accepted performance car deities - it also gives us some meaty figures to add to the evo Leaderboard list.

We're now on round three, with two ultra-hardcore trackday cars - the BAC Mono 2.5, and Radical RXC Turbo 500. We know both will be quick on track, but which is quicker around Anglesey circuit? You'll have to watch the video above to find out. Meanwhile, you can watch the results of our previous head-to-heads below.

Our first put two of Porsche's most desirable models against each other - the 911 Turbo S, and the 911 GT3 RS. One is frequently billed as the everyday supercar - a vehicle of huge performance that isn't too firm, too pernickety, too flashy to use every day on the way to work or on a trip to the shops. The other, while not completely undriveable on the road - it's still a 911, after all - its more focused, less comprehensively equipped, noisier, firmer and more track-biased.

Our second battle is between the Ferrari 488 GTB and its most extreme predecessor, the Ferrari 458 Speciale. We rate both cars incredibly highly, but each has different merits - the 488 pairs mighty performance with incredible usability, the Speciale one of the greatest naturally-aspirated engines of the modern era and scalpel-sharp responses.

Keep your eyes peeled for more Head-to-Head videos over the coming weeks.
