Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 video review

The all-new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 supercar reviewed on video

What's the new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 like to drive? With 690bhp at 8250rpm and 509lb ft of torque from its new 6.5litre V12 engine, the new Lambo's performance is off the scale, with a claimed 2.9sec sprint to 100km/h (62mph) and a top speed of 217mph. But it’s the balance of the Aventador’s chassis that came as the biggest surprise when we drove it. Big Lamborghinis have never been the friendliest supercar to drive on track but this new Lamborghini Aventador is a real game changer.

Compared to the previous generation Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV, the Aventador LP700-4 is a completely new car. Gone is the Murcielago’s ancient lattice frame chassis, constructed from square section metal tubes and in its place is an all-new carbon fibre monocoque, so the new Lamborghini Aventador is not only faster than Lamborghini’s old warhorse, it’s a lot lighter too. Inside, the interior has been completely revamped, offering much more space, as well as offering the driver a decent driving position at last.
