Lamborghini Espada road trip video

evo's Harry Metcalfe drives his Lamborghini Espada through Europe, via the wonderful Route Napoleon, in his latest video diary

Harry’s Lamborghini Espada is a 1970 supercar with four seats and one of the quirkiest side profiles ever to roll out of a car factory. At its heart is a 3.9-litre V12 engine, possessing 350bhp and 290lb ft of torque. These figures are beaten by a 2-litre hot hatch nowadays (meet the Mercedes A45 AMG), though the Espada delivers its numbers in a far more beguiling manner, a four-litre turbo engine no match for a sonorous, naturally aspirated 12-cylinder. After a colleague from Octane Magazine drove the Espada out to Italy so it could partake in Lamborghini’s 50th birthday Grand Tour, it was up to Harry to bring his pride and joy back home. It was the perfect excuse to fire up the video camera and drive back via the twisting, turning and utterly wonderful Route Napoleon in France. Video of the unforgettable journey below.
