Mitsubishi Colt

A sneak peek at Mitsubishi’s Paris world debut

Dark, mysterious teaser shots seem to be the order of the day in the run up to the autumn’s key motor shows. And Mitsubishi isn’t bucking the trend, with this vague shot of what is highly likely to be the facelifted Colt. It’s the middle of the supermini’s life, so time for a quick update to get it back in the small car fight. The current model lags behind most of the pack when it comes to European sales, something a butch-up of the styling should turn around. In the dimly lit picture we have so far, it could be mistaken for a baby Evo. No bad thing. A sharpening up of the CZT would be a move in the right direction, too, with warm versions of the hugely impressive Ford Fiesta not far away. We’ll let you know if Mitsubishi’s work has paid off when we get our hands on one. The aggressive grille and squinty headlights of the Evo X look set to be pasting themselves to the front of the rest of the Mitsubishi range, with the Outlander SUV set to borrow the family face too. There’ll be more details (and some less sneaky pictures) when the car gets its full reveal at the 2008 Paris motor show on October 2.
