Aston Martin DB9 GT review (2015) - MPG and running costs

It might be feeling its age, but the DB9 GT is still a very desirable car

Evo rating
  • Desirability factor, refinement, V12 engine, bags of character
  • Ageing interior tech, gearbox slow to react, can feel dated compared to rivals

MPG and Running Costs

It’s got a 6-litre quad cam V12 that produces 540bhp and 457lb ft of torque, do you really want to know the mpg? You do? Okay then, here goes. On the combined cycle it will return a claimed 19.8mpg, in reality with a mix of cruising, town driving and some spirited exercise of that V12 you’ll be looking at between 13-17mpg. Throw caution to the wind and ask everything of the GT and it will return single figure mileage for every gallon consumed.

The DB9 GT has a 78 litre fuel tank so on a good run you should see at least 250 miles before having to replenish it with more super unleaded.

Twenty-inch Pirelli P Zero tyres are standard and there’s no spare, only a repair kit, so a puncture on the go will require an instant replacement to get going again and the associated costs.
