Aston Martin DBX unveiled with 'Q' customisation

Buyers of the new Aston Martin DBX SUV can now take advantage of the marque's bespoke ‘Q’ offerings

The all-new Aston Martin DBX is offered with a slew of options and packages from standard, with the likes of a pet package, snow package and even a shooting (field sport) package all available to buyers. To cater for those that demand more, however, Aston Martin has employed its bespoke ‘Q’ division.

Akin to Jaguar Land Rover’s SVO or McLaren’s MSO departments, Q by Aston Martin allows buyers to apply a personal touch, whilst maintaining the quality associated with factory components and finishes. Now offered in three levels for varying budgets and demands, this Q-fettled model has been unveiled ahead of its Geneva debut, demonstrating the division’s capabilities.

Sitting at the top of the range is ‘Commission’, opening up endless possibilities for prospective buyers should their wallet be large enough. In this particular DBX, Aston Martin opted for an exclusive diamond-patterned satin chrome aluminium jewellery pack, applying machined aluminium components to the interior for added flare.

Entirely bespoke to this model are its unique carbonfibre trim pieces, machined from a single, 280-layer block of carbonfibre and finished for a staggering 90 hours to achieve the final result, not dissimilar to Lamborghini’s ‘forged carbon’ – these elements can be found on the centre console and doors cards. Also unique to this DBX is an expanse of carbon in the boot, with a single piece of herringbone carbon lining the floor of the storage area.

More attainable, comparatively affordable options are applied through ‘Collection’, adding satin ‘Xenon Grey’ paintwork, a lower carbon exterior package and black anodised tread plates and sill plaques to this car. Twenty-two-inch gloss black wheels and an Obsidian Black leather interior also make an appearance.

Aston Martin executive vice president and chief creative officer Marek Reichman said: ‘While our designer specifications previously demonstrated an incredibly broad range of choice and expression from our existing palette of colours and materials, Q by Aston Martin offers the tools to those who have an uninhibited desire to push the boundaries of what is achievable.’
