Audi Q7 review - lighter, more efficient and loaded with tech, but should you buy one? - Design

Better to drive and plenty of tech, but still behind rivals

Evo rating

from £50,340
  • Space and practicality mix with Audi quality
  • The driving equivalent of beige; expensive if you dive into the options

The previous Audi Q7 was a brutal thing, big, brash and wholly menacing in your rear view mirror when following three inches from your bumper. While always good to drive, its size made it unwieldy in some situations and antisocial in others.

The all-new model isn’t much different. It’s still a large car, but clever design hides some of that size and a slightly lower stance. The grille echoes the latest Audi design trends and multiple facets to the wheel arches and doors take away some visual bulk – to go along with the physical bulk Audi has removed from this generation. Those LED headlights look neat, too.
