Bentley Flying Spur V8 Beluga – caviar not included

Exclusive specification level added to Flying Spur V8 range

The Bentley Flying Spur is not a car short of customisation options, but that hasn’t stopped Bentley introducing a new specification level exclusively available on the V8-engined model – Beluga Specification.

Bentley calls it a ‘contemporary’ trim level. Inspired by – we’re guessing – the predatory, caviar-producing fish rather than the lumpen white whale, the Beluga is a more aggressive take on the luxury saloon.

Not that a car equipped with Bentley’s 4-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 isn’t already aggressive. Despite hauling around a kerb weight of 2417kg in basic specification, the 500bhp V8 launches the Flying Spur to 60mph in 4.9 seconds (and 62mph in 5.2).

Accompanying this are a gloss black radiator grille and body-coloured lower grille bar, replacing the chromed items usually present. A set of 20in Black and Bright machined alloy wheels contribute to what Bentley calls ‘a more athletic stance’. Inside, piano black veneer, knurled gearshift paddles and contrasting stitching are the order of the day, with deep pile floor mats and boot carpet.

You can take this even further in Mulliner Driving Specification, which adds diamond quilted leather, a knurled gear lever, drilled alloy pedals and an indented hide headlining. Mulliner cars also get a set of 21in six-spoke ‘Extrovert’ alloy wheels.

In addition to all these features, Bentley buyers will find onboard WiFi connectivity. The car is available to order now, with first customer deliveries in the autumn.
