BMW M2 tuned by AC Schnitzer - power grows to 414bhp

German tuner gives the BMW M2 just a little more aggression

Renowned German tuning firm AC Schnitzer has released details of its package of improvements for the BMW M2, boosing power, adding styling changes and making chassis improvements over the standard car.

The biggest difference is in the power the revised model now outputs, which climbs from the standard 365bhp to 414bhp, and torque increases to 428lb ft from 369lb ft. The improvements come courtesy of ECU tuning and an upgraded intercooler, along with a flap-controlled exhaust system. The powertrain changes come with a two-year warranty for peace of mind.

A set of AC Schnitzer coilovers - adjustable for both height and compression/rebound can chop up to 40mm from the M2’s standard ride height, though Schnitzer also offers a lowering spring kit for those with slimmer wallets or less extreme tastes, which lower the car 25-30mm at the front and 15-20mm at the rear.

An aerodynamic package is also available, much of which is constructed from carbonfibre. The car’s looks can be transformed with a front splitter and front canards, a rear roof spoiler and diffuser, and the option of a GT-style carbonfibre wing for the boot lid.

Completing the visual alterations are several alloy wheel options, at either 19- or 20-inches in diameter. Exterior changes are complemented by a range of interior finish options, including an aluminium pedal finish set, new floor mats and an aluminium cover for the iDrive controller.
