Watch - evo Track Evening in association with Sky Insurance

Jethro Bovingdon pushes the Caterham Seven 420 R on Bedford's fast flowing South West circuit

The last of 2015's evo Track Evenings, in association with Sky Insurance, The Performance Car Insurance Specialists, has now been and gone. Having attracted an eclectic mix of sports and supercars to Bedford Autodrome, 2015's four events were a tremendous success. For our latest video, we ride on board with Jethro Bovingdon in evo's Fast Fleet Caterham Seven 420 R on one of the hottest evenings of the summer.

Though its 2-litre four-cylinder engine produces 210bhp - making it one of the least powerful cars on track - the 420 R weighs just 560kg, ensuring power-to-weight is rated at 381bhp/ton. Not only does this enable it to sprint from 0-62mph in a claimed 3.8sec, it also makes it incredibly easy for Jethro to overcome the grip generated by its semi-slick rear tyres.

The results make for some spectacular footage, as Jethro dances the lightweight open-top sports car around the fast flowing South West circuit with pin-point precision. It also means the Caterham feels right at home riding kerbs and power sliding along Bedford's silky smooth asphalt - expect to see it back on track very soon.

The Track Evening events of 2015 might be over, but we only have to wait until October 31 until you can join us on track once again. Our first evo How Fast event will take place on Bedford where for the first time, drivers will be up against the stopwatch. You can read more and buy tickets here.
