Lister Motor Company will build 99 Jaguar F-Type based Lister Thunder models, inspired by its historic motorsport success

Lister hasn’t issued a full spec sheet for the Thunder, but we do know it will hit a 208mph top speed, sprint from 0-62mph in around 3sec; and crack 100mph in 6.8sec. Under the vented bonnet you’ll find an updated version of the F-Type’s 5-litre Supercharged V8, developing 666bhp – 99bhp more than the Jaguar F-Type SVR. A comprehensive specification, detailing all the engine modifications, will follow the car’s outing at the ExCel show.

Moving to the exterior design, a bespoke carbonfibre front bumper and extended rear splitter – delivering greater downforce and housing carbon-tipped exhausts – lend the Thunder a subtle aggression and constitute the major exterior changes. Careful use of Lister badges, decals and the marque’s traditional colours serve to give the Thunder further distinction from the regular F-Type.

Inside you won’t forget you’re in a Lister, the brand logo is embroidered into the headrests of the seats, which, like rest of the interior, are trimmed in Bridge of Weir Nappa leather that’s available in 36 different colours.

Talking about the Thunder, Lister CEO, Lawrence Whittaker relayed his intentions to rekindle Lister’s affinity with Jaguar. ‘Like Brabus and AMG with Mercedes and Alpina with BMW, we are hoping to become synonymous once again with tuning Jaguar vehicles, giving customers new enhanced, bespoke performance and design alternatives to Jaguar’s acclaimed model programme. Although we are not directly affiliated with Jaguar Land Rover, Lister has a Jaguar tuning heritage dating back 65 years.’
