Lexus LC500 Black Inspiration special edition revealed

The striking Lexus LC500 coupe is now available with a much more sinister look

Lexus has announced a new Black Inspiration version of its LC Coupe, offering up a selection of bespoke styling elements for the striking concept car-like coupe. Available with both V8 and V6 hybrid powertrains, pricing for the model will be revealed in November when orders open up for UK buyers.

The Black Inspiration does what it says on the tin, swapping out the LC500’s chrome and satin trim elements around the grille, roof, lighting and mirrors for either satin or gloss black replacements. These changes might sound subtle, but they completely transform the look and feel of the LC Coupe, making it more aggressive and less GT-like.

These changes are paired with a unique Graphite Black paint finish, new forged 21-inch alloy wheels – also finished in a matt black finish – and a static carbonfibre rear spoiler that arcs around the bootlid to almost wrap right the way around the tail lamps.

The rest of the specification is otherwise based on the top-spec Sport Plus Pack variant, which is highlighted by the addition of a Torsen limited-slip differential, rear-wheel steering and a progressive steering rack up front. These elements join the standard LC’s aluminium-intensive chassis, with double-wishbone suspension all-round on adaptive dampers.

Inside, Lexus has kept things relatively subdued compared to some of its other limited edition LC models, pairing black semi-aniline leather trim with very subtle dark brown contrast highlights around the seat bolsters, console and door cards. It also features extended use of Alcantara on the door cards, centre storage cubby, steering wheel and the top of the instrument binnacle.

Lexus has not announced how many Black Inspiration models will be available in the UK, but given the car’s low sales figures in the UK, we’d suggest there won’t be many floating around.
