Toyota GT86 Blanco – stripy special edition joins revised range

New range-topper for Toyota's sports car range; extra kit and extra cost

Toyota recently refreshed its GT86 sports car, chopping a useful chunk off the list price and adding definition to the range with a three-tier Primo, GT86 and Aero.

If you desire more than the £22,700 entry-level Primo can offer, Toyota has introduced a new GT86 Blanco special edition, topping the range.

For £28,500, £1005 more than the existing GT86 Aero – itself already equipped with gloss-black 18-inch alloy wheels – the Blanco gains a coat of GT White Pearl pearlescent paintwork and some distinctive decals. A grey and red stripe runs the length of the body and matching GT86-branded decals run along the car’s lower flanks.

It too wears 18-inch alloys, their ten-spoke faces finished in Anthracite and embossed with GT86 script. Interior changes are minimal, though the Blanco’s sport seats are now heated and fully trimmed in leather. A plaque on the centre console notes each car’s production number.

A JBL nine-speaker sound system is optionally available, as is a full Toyota Touch and Go multimedia and navigation system.

Mechanically, the Blanco is identical to models lower in the range, so the hefty list price won’t get you any more performance than the standard 197bhp boxer can provide – a 7.6-second 0-62mph sprint and 140mph top speed.

The Blanco is available to order from July 1, with deliveries to customers commencing a month later.
