This is an early sketch of a new British trackday special, the Jetstream J1. The mid-engined two-seater will be powered by a supercharged 2-litre GM Ecotec engine available in 210bhp and 250bhp states of tune; a turbocharged version is planned for late 2007. The chassis is made from aluminium honeycomb and features race-style pushrod suspension designed by Ashley Gaunt, ex of Noble and a consultant on the Farboud GTS.
WE'VE been using SpeedFerries a lot for the last couple of years to flit across the Channel, most recently for the French leg of evo Car of the Year. The service takes just 55 minutes, and being on a boat (a trimaran) gives you the chance to stretch your legs. There’s also food and drink onboard. Ah, the thrill of spending.
