New Bugatti picture

First picture of Bugatti's all-new Veyron replacing supercar leaks out

New Bugatti

This is our first look at Bugatti’s all-new car.

Yes, it’s a bit murky and not particularly revealing, but then the new model isn’t likely to be on sale until 2012. The picture is taken from an invite to a Bugatti event held around the Frankfurt motor show in September that will celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary.

The teasing photo reveals boomerang rear lights (which are probably LEDs) and a vertical strip third brake light, housed by a sculptured line reminiscent of the luxurious Bugatti Atlantique coupe of the 1930s.

It gives clues to the car’s possible name and segment for this car – many are speculating on it being a luxurious four-seater, possibly a saloon (in the vein of an incredibly upmarket Porsche Panamera, perhaps) and less of a record-chasing hypercar than the Bugatti Veyron.

A very potent powerplant will still feature, though – just look at those twin quad exhausts on either side of the car. Roll on the Frankfurt show when we’ll find out more…

The Bugatti Veyron features in Issue 134 of evo, a supercar special. Pick up a copy from Weds July 22.
