Lower price for Peugeot and Citroen's EVs

The combination of a £5000 government grant and substantial reduction in price from PSA means that the iOn and C-Zero can now be yours from just £249 per month.

Citroen and Peugeot have both slashed the price of the identical Peugeot iOn and Citroen C-Zero, down from £33,155 to £26,216 - which when combined with the Government's £5000 grant for electric vehicles makes this coupling one of the cheapest ways into an electric car (that you'd actually want to drive) on the market today, starting at £21,216.

Both companies have expanded their specialist dealer network, almost doubling the number in the UK. This pairing will form just a small part of PSA's future electric and hybrid model line-up, including the DS5 and 5008 Hybrid4 models, as well as fully-electric versions of the Partner and Berlingo vans.

The car is powered by a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery pack driving a single rear-mounted 41kW motor, which is enough to give the car a 0-60 time of about 16 seconds, and a range of 60-80 miles.

It might not be quite as refined as a LEAF, or as fast as a Tesla, but with Citroen or Peugeot's hire contract deal coming in at £249 a month, it certainly is affordable.
