K-Tec's 215bhp Renaultsport Clio 200

The K-Tec KTR215 package ups the Renaultsport Clio 197 and 200's power to 215bhp

Renault tuner K-Tec Racing has launched a range of engine upgrades for the RenaultSport Clio 197 and 200. Comprising a high performance camshaft, a new timing belt and an ECU remap, the ‘KTR215’ upgrade boosts power and torque to 215bhp and 175lb ft, figures which apply to both cars. The current Clio 200 boasts 197bhp and 159lb ft as standard. Drivability should be improved, the K-Tec upgrade offering more torque at lower engine speeds, with an extra 12lb ft available at 3600rpm. K-Tec also claims that a revised throttle map results in ‘greatly improved’ response and mid-range urgency. In terms of power, the upgrade appears to complement the Clio’s rev-happy nature. Though power gains are apparently evident from 2900rpm, the full 215bhp only comes on song at 7000rpm. The KTR215 package is available now for all 197 and 200 Clios, costing £1,366.80 fitted. K-Tec offers a 12 month/30,000 mile warranty on every upgrade.
