The Cooper D has a 108bhp turbodiesel offering 192lb ft of torque. With a 0-62mph time of 9.9sec, it’s not especially rapid, but then it does do 64.2mpg on the combined cycle. Prices will start at £14,190 when it goes on sale in April. A 94bhp petrol-engined Mini One is launched at the same time, with prices from £11,595.
