Spec-V to debut in on Jan 9 while more UK spec details revealed

The Nissan GT-R Spec-V is set to debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon on January 9, so the many months of rumours surrounding its potency can be put to rest. More recent stories have suggested a 39bhp boost for the GT-R's 3.8-litre V6 mated to a 100kg cut from the standard car's 1740kg, which together should ensure a boost in performance and a dynamically sharper car.

All should be revealed this coming weekend, but in the meantime, more details of the standard UK spec Nissan GT-R have been released. It produces 298g/km of carbon, putting it in the highest tax band, although that doesn't place it any worse off than rivals. Fuel economy is along the same lines, with 15.4mpg urban, 31mpg extra urban and 22.8mpg on a combined run.

GT-Rs will be delivered to customers from March and April, which is good news as it means delays afflicting the Nissan 370Z haven't spread to other models. If you need something to do while you wait for yours, watch our video of the Nissan GT-R taking on the Porsche 997 GT3.
