Lotus has revealed an updated Evora. The Sports Racer is inspired by Lotus’s 2012 motorsport successes – including lifting the British Endurance Championship trophy – and heralds a host of new colour schemes and better value for money via extra standard equipment.
The Sports Racer treatment can be applied to both standard, 276bhp Evoras (evo's 2009 Car of the Year, don't forget) and 345bhp supercharged Evora S models. Four colour choices are available – Aspen White, Carbon Grey, Nightfall Blue and Ardent Red – all of them contrasting with new gloss black detailing on the roof, sills, splitter and diffuser. The forged alloy wheels are also black.
The standard kit list is much longer than normal, and incorporates the Evora’s most desirable options. The Sports Pack (sharper throttle response, sportier traction control settings, cross-drilled brake discs), Tech Pack (upgraded stereo, touch screen display, Bluetooth, cruise control, parking sensors) and 2+2 seating are all included in the list price.
The Lotus Evora Sports Racer will be sold in the UK and Europe. It costs £57,900 in standard form – saving around £6500 on its base car with like-for-like equipment – and £65,900 as the supercharged Evora S, representing a £7150 cut.
